Human Appeal International (HAI) is a charitable, humanitarian, and non-governmental organisation (NGO) that was established in 1984. It works on a number of charitable causes, specialising in areas from Social and Educational Development to Health Care and Emergency Relief.
HAI’s worldwide reputation is reinforced by the fact that it holds consultative status (Category II) in the United Nations Social and Economic Council, maintains an observer capacity in IFAD (International Fund for Agriculture Development), and is a member of the International Council for Voluntary Associations (ICVA).
HAI has also carried out joint ventures with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for the Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA), the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) and has reached several memorandums of understanding with UNICEF and the AGFUND.
Human Appeal International has 14 offices worldwide serving more than 10 million people in its various countries of operation.
Of those individuals served, 80% are women and children. HAI has also sponsored over 46,000 orphans providing them with food, supplies, safe shelters, education and medical care.
Operating from Sydney and Melbourne, since as early as 1991, Human Appeal International Australia has been an instrumental arm of a collaborative team of organisations, bravely battling famine, poverty, social injustice, war and other crises as they arise.
To ensure that essential services and relief are provided to thousands of underprivellaged, or crisis affected people, Human Appeal International Australia seeks funds from its generous supporters in Australia and neighbouring countries.
